Choose Anthropic (Claude) if your enterprise priority is: long-document processing, instruction-following precision, safety/compliance documentation, and workloads that benefit from a 200K token context window.
Choose OpenAI (GPT-4o/o1) if your enterprise priority is: multimodal inputs (audio, vision), fine-tuning capability, wide third-party ecosystem integrations, and an established enterprise procurement track record.

OpenAI also publishes model cards and safety evaluations, but their approach has been more commercial and less academic. Their enterprise agreements include standard data processing addendums and security review processes.
For regulated industries (finance, healthcare, legal), both companies offer enterprise agreements with BAAs (Business Associate Agreements where applicable) and data processing agreements that meet GDPR and SOC 2 requirements.
